Customizing Lynx
The options displayed by the Lynx configuration screen are dependent on
your user mode. If you have selected the "Novice" User mode (this is the
default...) you will only see the basic option selections.
Multiple Bookmarks
There are three options:
- OFF - only displays the standard bookmark file.
- STANDARD - presents a list of bookmark files when you press 'v'
- ADVANCED - asks you for the bookmark file you wish to use
- to select a bookmark file enter the letter (i.e. 'b') associated with
this bookmark file. To view a list of bookmark files press "=".
Search type: CASE SENSITIVE
When this option is "ON" if you use '^w' to search a document for "Case" you
will NOT find "case" or "CASE".
Keypad Mode
There are three options:
- Numbers act as arrows
- Uses the number keypad to move around one link at a time.
- Links are numbered
- Displays a number beside each link on a document. You can move to a link
by entering the number associated with it.
- Links and form fields are numbered
- Also displays a number beside each field in an 'html' form. Allows you to
easily skip over form fields
List directory style:
If you choose "Mixed style" directories and filenames will be mixed together in
the file browser list. If you select "Directories First" the directories will
appear at the top of the list. (This makes it easier to navigate a directory tree.)
Preferred document language
CSuite currently allows a site to install support for French language users.
If French language support has been installed you can set your language
preference to "fr" to view and French documents on CSuite or other internet
sites.
Your (Lynx) language preference also controls the Language used by the 'Pine'
Mail and News readers.
Important
- Do not set multiple language preferences in Version 1.0 of CSuite. If you set
multiple languages, Lynx defaults to English.
- Other lynx options are really not intended for use by individuals who do not
already know what they mean.
